The Past

The past.  Everybody has a past, how can one not?  it’s behind you, it’s not now, we only live in the moment that we have and then it’s the past.

Why then do we continually bring up the past?

I  have had something go wrong with a family member that has hurt me, a friend that has betrayed me, circumstances beyond my control that went the wrong way, deep dark  secrets I don’t want to ever bring up and I have wronged someone.

I also believe that everyone in the world has had at least one of those things happen to them, if not all of them.

The memory takes a beating on the soul day in and day out, not the person that’s wronged you, not the family that’s hurt you, not your past, just you.

I personally take the beating, me myself and I.

And why should I constantly carry the burden?  (Do I sound like Christian in Pilgrims Progress?)

If I am to blame for someones pain, I can’t fix what’s been done outside of a sincere apology, or possibly changing my course.

God doesn’t bring the past up and throw in my face, and He is the only one that matters. Me and My God.

Not my family, not my friends, not my wrong doings, not my mistakes or bad decisions.

I don’t want to take the beatings for past wrongs anymore.  I’m done and I’m leaving that at the cross.  And my cross is the Camino right now.

Forgive yourself, forgive others, be mindful of your actions and your response.

Take time to: pause, reflect, meditate, prayer, quiet.

Psalm 103:12

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from US!
