Today we trek from Refugio Paine Grande along Lake Pehoe to the northern side of the glacier. The Andes are on our left or the west of us and the Paine Massif to our right and the glacier straight ahead.
We stopped to take a break and were given the option to stay and have lunch or go to a look out. I opted to stay where we were and eat lunch. I ordered a quesadilla and a diet coke and man was it good!!!
We were able to see floating glaciers from the calving Glacier Grey. I have never seen anything like it, really unique.
We boarded a boat to take us up close to the glacier, it is huge! From there we hiked back to our shuttle to take us the rest of the way back to EcoCamp.
I didn’t have my watch set correctly, however from I can tell we hiked about 14 miles.
Excellent weather again and I was abe to get up and go in the morning.
Thoughts for the day:
I was grateful the hike was not as steep although long and as on other trips I have had to hike back and today we got a RIDE!
My Quesadilla was a hit and my diet coke was cold.
I prayed for the health of my Step Dad, Ryan and Rick with his boys and then thought, I need to pray for myself! Thankfully God carried me through as usual.
I had more great laughs with new friends and Sally and I continued to enjoy our friendship.
